My name is Maddie Shaw!
I am a first-year student at the University of New England, currently majoring in Medical Biology. I have an interest in Paramedicine, and possibly a PA Degree following field experience there. I have spent the past 11 years in Maine after moving from Montgomery County, Maryland back in 2008. In my time here, I have taken advantage of many of the opportunities the Pine Tree State has to offer, spending my summers working at Norumbega Oyster Farm, enjoying the countless natural attractions, exploring historical destinations, and so much more.
I am passionate about my athletics, I was a two-year captain for my high school field hockey team, placed on the “players to watch” list in my athletic conference, and I was placed on the 2018 KVAC All-Conference 1st team for field hockey. In addition to field hockey, I was also my high school’s varsity lacrosse goalie for 4 years, ending my season with a personal record amount of saves. I am excited to use aspects of teamwork, dedication, hard work, friendship, and headstrong attitude to further my education and my future!
